Global and Historical Perspectives on Education
ED3903 / 3 q.h.
Provides an historical foundation for understanding how global educational trends of today have been informed by ideas and practices from the past. Seminal theories of teaching and learning, benchmarks in the evolution of schooling, and changing notions about the purposes of education will be compared cross culturally over time. Students will have an opportunity to gain a more sophisticated perspective on today’s changing landscape in K-12 and higher education across the world.
