The Civilization of the Early Modern World

Covers the period from the end of the Middle Ages to the French Revolution in 1789. Emphasizes the intellectual, technological, and political expansion of Europe and the reactions of the rest of the world to it. Emphasizes the rise of dynastic states, the rise and fall of mercantilism, the scientific revolution, exploration and gunpowder technology, and order and revolution.
