Offers students an opportunity to learn how to protect intellectual property and confidentiality, safeguard consumers against identity and account theft, and help protect the company from criminal and civil suits. As the Internet has become a mainstream medium for commercial transactions and a widely used tool that supports business activities in general, security and legal issues have become a major factor in business today. Passwords, firewalls, and encryption are just some of the topics covered. Prereq. ITC 1235.
