State and Local Government

Covers the powers, politics, political cultures, and the constitutional settings of U.S. state and local governments. “All politics is local,” according to Tip O’Neill, former Speaker of the House of Representatives. Examines the role of legislatures, interest groups, governors, and the courts in developing and implementing policies, as well as how local governments interact with federal and state governments. Focuses on current events.
