How to Prepare for Direct Access Now

Introduces physical therapists to the latest delivery models of practice and provides the underlying rationale for recent and pending evolutionary changes affecting physical therapy practice. Presents and discusses the APTA’s Guide to Physical Therapist Practice as related to current aspects of “best practice.” Discusses the necessary philosophy of the expanded role as a diagnostician and the marketing strategies required to promote and advocate for the autonomous model of care with direct access. Presents the clinical competencies that define primary contact physical therapy and how these skills help to provide health-care consumers safe and effective management of neuromusculoskeletal impairments and functional limitations.
