Documentary and Nonfiction Production

Description Offers students interested in documentary filmmaking an opportunity to learn the research, story structure, and production skills necessary to bring a nonfiction video narrative from preproduction through postproduction and refine their work from rough to final cut. Using scenes and examples from notable documentaries to inspire and illustrate technique, students research topics, find subjects, conduct interviews, practice techniques of cinema verité and B-roll, and work with archival footage to complete one major nonfiction project.
