Critical and Creative Thinking

Description Explores critical and creative thinking, particularly the ways in which the two types of thinking operate together. Focuses on K–12 classrooms and how teachers can bring critical and creative thinking to the center of their curriculum and instruction. Approaches critical and creative thinking as skills that can improve through practice but remains mindful of the relationship between thinking skills and specific academic content. Offers participants an opportunity to examine theories and research involving critical thinking and creativity, engage in activities designed to help them become more familiar with their own ways of thinking, and design strategies for teaching critical thinking and creativity in their own classrooms.
