Description Introduces students to the major stars and constellations visible to the naked eye from the midnorthern latitudes. Begins with the development of the solar system and a discussion of planets, their satellites, and asteroids. Examines how the motions of these celestial objects can be understood, the techniques utilized to locate specific bodies, and the scientific methods used to analyze their size and composition.
