Description Focuses on the community-based groups and movements that shape popular opinion about and activism in response to living in a global world. Beginning with the social movement concept, the course examines the emergence of a global civil society that operates on a dynamic of advocacy and development mobilized by grassroots-based economic organizations and individuals.
