Description Examines regional stability and cooperation, efforts to foster democracy and human rights, and policies that have led toward increased trade and rapid economic prosperity. Explores pressures on traditional societies confronting globalization, changing roles of women, demands for improved education, along with challenges from transnational crime such as money laundering, trafficking in persons, and narcotics smuggling.
