Medicine is a fruitful area for philosophical exploration and application of basic theories that help to analyze practical problems and concrete moral dilemmas. Addresses issues such as informed consent and whether patients have a "right to die." Covers the distribution of health services and the allocation of scarce resources. Offers students an opportunity to become familiar with the complex issues and various possible responses.
