Energy for Today and Tomorrow

Starting with the fall 2009 term, this course will be renumbered as ESC 1525.
This course will focus on traditional sources of energy (i.e. fossil fuels and nuclear) as well as up-and-coming renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydrogen, biomass, hydropower, and geothermal. Pertinent issues for each, including efficiency, economics, pollution, the future of current sources, and the likelihood of and obstacles to implementation of new sources, will be discussed in the context of impact on the environment.
