Perspectives in Digital Culture

Explores the role of digital media in society—their history, their interactions with contemporary culture, and their possible future directions. We are immersed in digital culture—blogging, instant messaging, text messaging, wireless, gaming, downloading, cell phones, Google, i-Tunes. Potential topics include the Internet and the construction of identity; digital subcultures; the growth of the digital entertainment industry; technology, ideology, and values; representations of technology in popular media; and play and leisure in digital media.
