Reviews conic sections and trigonometry. Topics include general function operations; limits; and derivations of single variable functions, including algebraic and trigonometric functions, general rules of differentiation, derivatives of exponential, logarithmic, and inverse trigonometric functions. Applications include differentiation to velocity, acceleration, related rates, physics, Newton’s method, optimization, and curved sketching. Requires a graphing calculator, the make and model to be specified at the first class meeting.
