Specifically designed for EMT-Basics who have at least six months of EMT experience, the Paramedic Technology Certificate program is a 16-month, part-time offering that incorporates classroom time, lab time, clinical experience, and field internships—totaling at least 1,200 hours.
Featuring courses in anatomy, physiology, and emergency medical services, the program’s curriculum exceeds U.S. Department of Transportation and Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s requirements. The overall goal of this program is to enhance your basic EMT skills, learn the essential Advanced Life Support (ALS) techniques, and acquire the knowledge you need to use your new skills confidently and capably.
Unique to this program is the ability to receive college credits for your lab and field work. Upon successful completion, you will earn 57 quarter hours of college credit—all of which can be transferred directly into the College of Professional Studies’ Associate of Science in Paramedic Technology degree program. Once you receive your certificate, you become eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and/or the Massachusetts Paramedic Certification exams.
