Overview

Enhance Your Understanding of the Information Technology Field


The Associate of Science in Management Information Systems focuses on a number of conceptual and practical information technology (IT) topics. Featuring a choice of courses in programming logic, PC database software, visual basic programming, java programming, C# programming, XML fundamentals, and networking and communications, this innovative program covers a range of important IT issues. To help provide a context for understanding the role of the management information system (MIS) professional in a business environment, the curriculum also includes courses in accounting, organizational behavior, finance, business, and operations.

In addition to providing a solid foundation with which to pursue a bachelor’s degree, this program equips you to pursue an entry-level position within the information technology field.


Core Curriculum

College of Professional Studies and Lowell Institute School students who complete an associate degree will fulfill many of the same core curriculum requirements of all CPS and LIS bachelor?s degree programs. Core courses allow students to gain insights into disciplines other than their field of study and develop expertise in written and oral communication and critical thinking.
