Housing
Dormitory space at the University is only available during the summer. After you've been accepted as a student at one of the programs at the English Language Center and you've received your student ID number, you can obtain a dormitory space through www.housing.neu.edu or telephone the housing office at (617) 373-2814. You may also use http://www.northeastern.edu/offcampus/ to search for information about finding an apartment or a roommate. If you wish to stay with an American Family, you can visit www.globalimmersions.com concerning home stays.
Most students buy their own insurance before coming to Northeastern. You are responsible for any expenses for hospitalization or serious medical illness. You will have to present proof at registration that you have such an insurance policy.

-
If you wish long-term insurance you can purchase it through the university for 12 months of coverage.Or whatever part of the year still remaining depending on your starting date.
-
Your Northeastern policy can be used at most other schools if you transfer. You will be charged $1850 for coverage extending from September to August.
ISSI provides international students by offering an assortment of orientation programs, as well as intercultural activities and events. All visa documentation and international issues are handled through this office. For more information about the ISSI, please visit their website at www.issi.neu.edu. (I-20 Extension Form)
Withdrawals and Refunds
Not attending class is not the same as withdrawing. To withdraw from the ELC program, you must notify the ELC office staff in person. You will then receive instructions on how to withdraw officially from the university. The International Student and Scholar Institute will be informed of your withdrawal and your I-20 will be cancelled and no longer considered valid.
You may withdraw from the ELC program through the second Friday of the session and receive a 100% refund less your tuition deposit of $250. If you decide to withdraw at a later time during the session, you will be ineligible for a refund and subject to billing by the university for your complete tuition for the session in which you have enrolled.
Transfer-In
At the English Language Center, you must submit a transfer-in form in order to complete your application, if you are studying at another school in the Boston area or somewhere else in the U.S. (Transfer-In Form)
