Rick Arrowood

Rick J. Arrowood is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Master of Science in Leadership and Master of Science in Nonprofit Management programs. He serves as lead faculty of the Nonprofit Management degree program, oversees the certificate program in Human Resource Management, and is a visiting professor at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia, and Vietnam National International University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. His teaching and research interests include nonprofit management, global leadership, and cultural diversity in the workplace. Arrowood has been involved with or appointed to Northeastern University Faculty Senate Committees, including the Faculty Senate Committee on Non-Tenure Track Issues and the Provost’s College of Professional Studies Dean Search Committee.  Arrowood’s research appears in peer-reviewed academic journals, including “Setting the Stage for ‘Good, Better, or Just Right’ in Online and Blended Graduate Courses” appearing in Open Praxis, 6, No. 4, a publication of the International Council for Open and Distance Education, with co-authors, in 2014. He holds several professional certifications in cultural competency and leadership practices and is a member of the International Leadership Association, Academy of Management, Society for Human Resource Management, American Association of University Professors, and National Human Resources Association.

Previously, Arrowood led nonprofit organizations for more than two decades and was recognized by former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, who credited him with leading a grassroots effort to attain a legislative mandate providing the first-ever, statewide registry for individuals living with Lou Gehrig’s disease, a registry that is overseen by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Environmental Division, and is replicated nationwide.
