Northeastern University provides two programs to prepare teaching assistants in meeting their classroom duties successfully.

The longest established program is the International Teaching Assistants Orientation. This is for all international teaching assistants or research assistants, whose first language is not English. This program is required.  It meets Monday, August 31st, 2009 and runs through Friday, September 4th, 2009.  Most of the daily sessions operate from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please see the above link so that you can examine in more detail the schedule and activities for that week.

The University also runs a University-Wide Teaching Assistants Program for all new teaching assistants. This is a required program . It meets in the afternoons on Wednesday, September 2rd and Thursday, September 3rd. The sessions run from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. The last session on Thursday is followed by a reception for all new TAs at Northeastern. The Reception will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Please see the above link so that you can examine in more detail the schedule and activities for those two days.
