English For Academic Purposes The English for Academic Purposes program is an academic preparation program for highly motivated students who intend to enter university degree programs (undergraduate or graduate) in the US. The primary focus of the EAP is on developing the language, study, and cross-cultural skills required to succeed in American higher education. The program also prepares students for the challenges of the application and admissions process, and offers students the opportunity to gain insight into the U.S. university system, instructor expectations, and student responsibilities.
The English Language Center offers two EAP sessions during the summer: Summer I (May 4 - June 23, 2009) Summer II (June 29- August 20, 2009)
Business Case Program In this program you will have the opportunity to improve your speaking and writing skills while working with business cases. If you are planning to enter an American MBA Program, want to get a better job, or build a more impressive resume for the future, you should consider this program. In eight weeks you will learn to defend your assumptions in a case class or lead your team in completing a business plan. You will build the skills and techniques to become a more effective and dynamic presenter when you do a PowerPoint presentation in English. Many graduates of this program have gone on to great success in graduate schools and professional careers in American and international companies.
The English Language Center offers two Business Case sessions during the summer: Summer I (May 4 - June 26, 2009) Summer II (June 29- August 20, 2009)
American Classroom Program This program is for students who would like to improve their English and have the opportunity to take credit-bearing academic courses at the College of Professional Studies. Qualified students may take two academic courses in the evening with the College of Professional Studies. Entrance to this program is based on a TOEFL Score or the results of the English Proficiency Exam given at the beginning of the session.
The English Language Center offers one American Classroom session during the summer: Summer Quarter (July 6 - September 11, 2009)
*Global Leadership in Boston Program Join this four-week graduate-level Leadership Program at the main campus of Northeastern University in the center of Boston. Students will take two graduate courses in leadership and financial relationships in the evenings. Each class meets for three hours twice a week from Monday to Thursday. There are two field trips to visit local companies. This program is for professionals and graduate-level students with excellent language skills. Graduate students will receive academic credit for their two courses, which may be transferred to their home university programs.
The English Language Center offers one Leadership session during the summer: Summer II (July 6-August 1, 2009)
