Program & Thesis Schedules
The Doctorate in Law & Policy program begins with a five-day Introductory Seminar, and then meets one weekend per month for two years. Classes are supplemented by regular and structured online work.

July Orientation and Introductory Seminar (five days)
Meet the faculty and receive materials.
The introductory seminar, which meets for five days in July, covers contemporary issues in academic writing, research methodology, and professional development. Orientation activities include with a reception with faculty and senior Northeastern administrators and a tour of the Boston campus.
Weekend Meeting Schedule
After the Introductory Seminar, classes meet one weekend per month from Friday at 12:30 p.m. through Sunday at 2:30 p.m.. Click here for a complete schedule of weekend classes for the 2009-2011 cohort.
Sample Weekend Schedule
Weekend classes may include course lectures, workshops, group and individual meetings, guest speakers, and other activities. Click here for a sample schedule of a weekend meeting during the second term.
Pre- and Post-Meetings
Before each weekend meeting session students complete readings and preparatory assignments. Written assignments (group and individual) and presentations are assigned to be completed by the next session.
