This program can be completed online, on-campus, or a combination of the two.

The Special Education concentration meets the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education standards and competencies for an additional licensure as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, Pre-K-8 and 5 - 12. This degree is designed for practitioners already licensed at the Initial or Professional level in another discipline.

Specialized topics in modifying curriculum, designing curriculum-based assessments, managing severe behaviors, IEP development, community resources and literacy extend a teacher's ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population and enable them to demonstrate the competencies for this license.
