Rapid changes in information technology and global competition are forcing organizations to reconsider what it takes to sustain a competitive advantage. These shifting demands pose ever-greater challenges for IT professionals. Northeastern's Master of Professional Studies in Informatics is the result of a collaboration with the College of Computer and Information Sciences. It is designed to provide IT professionals or those individuals taking on IT oversight responsibilities with up-to date knowledge, skills, and values essential to both the private and public sectors.
The Master of Professional Studies in Informatics is built on an integrated set of courses that includes broad exposure to technical knowledge, the application of information systems, and the organizational and managerial context of information technology. This conceptual foundation is augmented with career-focused specializations to provide depth and content-specific expertise in an area of interest to the student. |
