MS in Applied Nutrition

In keeping with the recommendations of the American Dietetic Association that nutrition continuing education emphasize clinical, research and business, the Northeastern MS degree in Applied Nutrition will provide students with the opportunity to build upon clinical knowledge and specialize in one of four areas. This program is the only nutrition masters in Massachusetts offering concentrations in obesity/eating disorders and business management. Clinical and/or research experience are available in three of the four specializations depending on the prior background of the student. In lieu of a thesis, all students are required to complete a yearlong research project that will be presented to faculty and students as a requirement for program completion.

The MS in Applied Nutrition is a 40-41 quarter hour (q.h.) graduate program built on a core of seven courses and four areas of specialization (16-17 q.h. each), in the areas of Obesity and Eating Disorders, Nutrition Education, Nutrition and Fitness, and Business and Entrepreneurship in Nutrition.
