Magazines have many missions and audiences. This course provides practice in writing and selling magazine articles by teaching how to analyze magazine markets, prepare a query letter, research, and submit manuscripts to editors. Students learn popular and salable formats such as travel, how-to, profile, and personal experience. Topics include development of ideas and focus and slant of an article for a particular audience. |
