Introduction to Construction Management

This course is designed to provide the foundation in both technical skills and individual written and verbal communication for construction managers. Since students will come to the program from a variety of educational and experience backgrounds, one purpose of this course will be to access and bring all students to the level necessary for successful completion of the program. To achieve this, students will become familiar with the processes required for planning and control, including estimating, cost control, and accounting of a project's costs. They will practice scheduling techniques, progress monitoring, and reporting approaches for projects. The course will provide an introduction to organizations, purchasing, and legal aspects of construction such as contracts and construction law. |
