Ruby Linn Foundation Scholarships for Service Members and Veterans


SERVICE MEMBER AND VETERAN REFERRAL PROGRAM


Scholarship up to $5,000 for Lowell Institute School students who are service members (active duty, National Guard, reserve) and veterans.

Applicants must meet the following criteria

  • Will receive or have received an associate degree of any major OR have 80 quarter hours (60 credits) of transferrable credit (required for fast-track programs; recommended for other degree programs).
  • Applied to any degree program existing within the Lowell Institute School degree portfolio:
    • BS Biological Science
    • BS Biotechnology
    • BS Environmental Science
    • BS Health Management
    • BS Health Management – Fast-Track
    • BS Information Technology
    • BS Information Technology – Fast-Track
    • BS Psychology
    • BSET Computer Engineering Technology
    • BSET Electrical Engineering Technology
    • BSET Mechanical Engineering Technology
    • BSHS Health Science
    • Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Scholarship Application Instructions (for service members and veterans):

  1. Complete the College of Professional Studies application for one of our aforementioned degree programs within the Lowell Institute School.

    No separate scholarship application required. Student Financial Services will automatically provide the funding as part of the financial aid package if the student has a demonstrated need.

  2. Get Certificate of Eligibility – request a certificate of eligibility (COE) from the Veterans Affairs office.

  3. Submit the Certificate of Eligibility to Northeastern University’s Veterans Affairs school-verifying official. We can accept these via fax, e-mail, regular mail, or in person at:

Scholarship Deadlines

Scholarships applications are awarded on a rolling basis, but it is recommended that you complete your application and submit your Certificate of Eligibility 6-10 weeks prior to the desired term start dates, viewable here

Scholarship Awarding Process

For your financial aid status, please contact Student Financial Services at sfs@northeastern.edu. Selected recipients will receive a formal letter via email of the award granted. Award value is divided throughout the academic year considering that the student continues to meet the criteria of the award.

Scholarship up to $30,000 for Lowell Institute School students who are service members (active duty, National Guard, reserve) and veterans.

Applicants must meet the following criteria

  • Will receive or have received an associate’s degree of any major OR have 80 quarter hours (60 credits) of transferrable credit
  • Applied to the following Fast-Track degree completion programs existing within the Lowell Institute School degree portfolio
    • BS Health Management – Fast-Track
    • BS Information Technology – Fast-Track
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Scholarship Application Instructions

  1. Complete the College of Professional Studies application for one of our aforementioned degree programs within the Lowell Institute School
  2. Complete the brief electronic scholarship application form:
  3. Get Certificate of Eligibility – request a certificate of eligibility (COE) from the Veterans Affairs office
  4. Complete the FAFSA form (highly recommended, but not required)
  5. Submit the Certificate of Eligibility to Northeastern University’s Veterans Affairs school-verifying official. We can accept these via fax, e-mail, regular mail, or in person at:

Scholarship up to $13,000 for Lowell Institute School students who are service members (active duty, National Guard, reserve) and veterans, enrolled in Fast-Track programs 100% online.

Applicants must meet the following criteria

  • Will receive or have received an associate’s degree of any major OR have 80 quarter hours (60 credits) of transferrable credit
  • Applied to the following Fast-Track degree completion programs existing within the Lowell Institute School degree portfolio
    • BS Health Management – Fast-Track (100% online only)
    • BS Information Technology – Fast-Track (100% online only)
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the Department of Veterans Affairs
