About

Joseph A. Griffin is the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and Teaching Professor in the Master of Science in Project Management program. Previously, Dr. Griffin served as the Faculty Director of the Project Management degree program, the Master of Professional Studies in Informatics, and the Master of Professional Studies in Analytics.

He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Workplace Ethics & Leadership, and he has also earned a Masters of Business Administration (Lenoir-Rhyne University), a Masters of Project Management (Western Carolina University), and a Masters of Arts in Christian Thought (Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary).

Dr. Griffin authored the textbook Residential Construction Management: Managing According to the Project Lifecycle and numerous articles related to project management. He frequently presents on project management topics at national conferences throughout the United States and at international conferences in the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, and India. His recent conference papers and presentations relate to earned value management, translating strategic directives into organizational action, risk and quality integration, stakeholder engagement, and ethics.

He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) as well as an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).  He serves as a volunteer academic reviewer for PMI's Global Accreditation Center.
