About

Hello. My name is Dr. Lee Rielly. I am the instructor for PTH6561 Evidence-Based Examination and Outcomes for the Cervical Spine, Thoracic Spine and Temporomandibular Joint. This course is one of the five courses that comprise the curriculum for the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Orthopedic Physical Therapy offered by the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences at Northeastern University. The Certificate of Advanced Studies program is designed for licensed Physical Therapists interested in developing advanced clinical and analytical skills in the field of Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice. The goal of the program is to provide students with opportunity to obtain the knowledge, skills and expertise required to develop and implement safe, evidence-informed, cost-effective, value-based and patient-centered management programs within the scope of Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice.

I am a licensed physical therapist with a twenty-two year professional career in physical therapy and rehabilitation. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 1996; a Master of Education Degree in Exercise Science from Louisiana State University in 2002; and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2011. For the last eighteen years I have served as the Program Director for the Willis-Knighton Spine Institute in Shreveport, Louisiana. As Program Director, I provide administrative supervision and clinical leadership for a diverse team of professionals from the fields of physical therapy, nursing, social services and behavioral therapy in the operation and promotion of a CARF-Accredited Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Program for adults with musculoskeletal spinal disorders. In April 2017, I assumed a leadership role as the Supervisor of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services for the Willis Knighton Rehabilitation Institute (https://www.wkhs.com/Locations/Rehabilitation-Institute). In August 2018, I assumed an expanded leadership role as the Assistant Director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the Willis-Knighton Health System (https://www.wkhs.com).  My new responsibilities include providing administrative leadership and clinical supervision for the interdisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals serving the customers of the Willis-Knighton Health System through our Outpatient Rehabilitation Services and Programs (https://www.wkhs.com/physical-medicine-and-rehabilitation/outpatient-rehabilitation). I am excited to have the opportunity to share the knowledge, skills and expertise I have developed over my career with the students enrolled in the Certificate of Advanced Studies Program at Northeastern University.

I look forward to working with the instructional designers at Northeastern University and the other faculty members in the program as we developed a dynamic curriculum that will assist our students achieve their goal of receiving the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
