Northeastern and International University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will offer Master of Science in Leadership

Northeastern University recently signed an agreement with International University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to offer the Master of Science in Leadership degree program in collaborating with International University in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is the economic, cultural, and educational center of Vietnam. Northeastern University and International University have joined forces to prepare students to become global leaders.

“As the trend towards globalization continues, universities are uniquely positioned to prepare and educate developing leaders,” said Rick Arrowood, Assistant Academic Specialist for the College’s graduate programs. “Our partnership with International University gives faculty the opportunity to teach, to learn and to enhance pedagogy while simultaneously giving students the fundamentals of crafting change in their own communities and preparing them to be global leaders. Vietnam is an ideal incubator for faculty to try new things.” 

The Master of Science in Leadership is offered by Northeastern University College of Professional Studies at the university’s Boston campus, in a hybrid format at Northeastern University’s graduate center in Charlotte, North Carolina and as part of a dual master’s degree program of the Global Leadership Program at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Stephen W. Director, Northeastern University Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs; Dr. John G. LaBrie, Dean, College of Professional Studies and Vice President of Professional Education represented Northeastern welcomed  Dr. Chu Quoc Thang, Vice-Rector, Associate Professor; Dr. Nguyen Duc Cuong, Dean of School of Computer Science and Engineering, and Dinh Kim Phung, Office of International Relations and Research and Development Management, to the Northeastern campus in Boston and to sign the agreement.

The Master of Science in Leadership degree offers students in Vietnam an opportunity to gain and apply skills in employment, professional networks, government and community projects while simultaneously learning skills in building personal and professional bridges and transcending national borders. 

International University (IU) was established in 2003 and is one of six member universities of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. It is the first public university in Vietnam that uses English as the primary language in teaching and researching.
